There can’t be many local authorities who want to be on the front page of the Daily Mail, but Bristol City Council were tempting fate this week after a man was fined £500 for dropping a Pringles lid.

There can't be many local authorities who want to be on the front page of the Daily Mail, but Bristol City Council were tempting fate this week after a man was fined £500 for dropping a Pringles lid.

Local man Gareth Daniel, 31, (not, we hasten to add, the former Brent LBC chief of the same name) was fined £200, and ordered to pay costs of £278.75 and a £20 victim surcharge in his absence by Bristol Magistrates' Court following the incident in April.
