Regular readers will know of Diary's fondness for all things Cornwall. It doesn't matter whether it's a pasty, a glass of the local cider or bowl of fresh South West strawberries – we heart Cornwall.

However, Diary was most perturbed to see tabloid reports that Cornwall Council was planning to spend £180,000 to promote the much-maligned and frequently overlooked Cornish language.
