Leicestershire CC’s leader has outlined his vision for unitary councils covering the East Midlands so the region can compete with the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA).

Leicestershire CC's leader has outlined his vision for unitary councils covering the East Midlands so the region can compete with the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA).

Council leader Nick Rushton said it was ‘logical' for new unitaries to be created to pave the way for a strategic alliance covering Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.
