Eaton dismisses spending savings as 'eye-catching but inaccurate'

Baroness Eaton has queried Eric Pickles’ claim that councils could make annual 20% procurement efficiencies, worth up to £10bn.

Chairman of the LGA, Baroness Eaton, has queried Eric Pickles' ‘eye-catching but inaccurate' claim that councils could make annual 20% procurement efficiencies, worth up to £10bn.

The communities secretary has used a report by commercial analysts Opera Solutions, to state potential savings available, - equivalent to £452 for every household - mean ‘there's no excuse for any council to be standing still.'
