It's not the economy, it's you!

Public revulsion with the political class means all bets are off next May. Uncertainty is the new certainty, writes Dan Corry.

Way back, after the events of May 2010, many felt that the prospects of the different parties in the 2015 General Election would be a function of how the economy fared.

Could the Conservatives get whatever pain they felt was needed in terms of spending cuts and tax hikes out of the way quickly enough and glide us towards feeling better off and more secure so that they could achieve a clear victory in 2015?
