Scottish police are investigating allegations of fraud centring on Edinburgh City Council's property conservation unit in light of evidence uncovered by BBC Scotland.

Officers from Lothian and Borders fraud unit are examining claims that contractors offered bribes and overcharged for unnecessary and poor quality work commissioned under the statutory notice system.
