Furthering education

According to a recent ~National Audit Office~ report, a quarter of English secondary schools perform poorly. This shows clearly that calls for ‘no more change' in our education system must be rejected.

The improvements of recent years have been through our willingness to embrace debate and change. In Newham the emphasis on standards has borne fruit, delivering improved life chances to some of the most deprived communities in the country. By working in close partnership with our schools we've significantly closed the gap that used to exist between this borough and more advantaged areas.
