Efficiency 'guru' ridicules Labour's 'sexy' IT regime

The head of the Cabinet Office’s efficiency and reform group (ERG)has attacked Labour ministers 'sexy’ IT procurements.

The head of the Cabinet Office's efficiency and reform group (ERG), Ian Watmore, said the desire of Labour ministers to make their policies ‘sound sexy' resulted in over-ambitious and badly-managed IT procurements.

Mr Watmore previously served as the civil service's chief information officer at the e-Government Unit, between 2004 and 2006, before ex-PM Tony Blair appointed him head of the prime minister's delivery unit.
