Elderly people 'will gain from cash transfer'

Transfer of NHS cash to local authorities for the provision of adult social care will make a ‘vital difference' to the elderly, according to the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS).

ADASS has emphasised the importance of £162m in-year transfer of NHS money to local authorities, announced by health secretary, Andrew Lansley.
