An election without honesty that failed to engage

The public has been offered a choice between a return to the 1950s or to the 1970s, argues Heather Jameson. Neither party has offered a vision of the future and a plausible way to pay for it.

As the electorate goes to the polls, it seems both Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn have been completely outclassed in the leadership stakes by a 23-year-old pop star and a couple of metro mayors.

The weekend saw Ariana Grande unite a city and a nation with the One Love Manchester concert – engaging people in a way the election campaign has failed to do.
