Election revamp on the cards

Late night election counts could be a thing of the past with the news that the Government is looking at reforming the current system.

A spokesman for the Department for Constitutional Affairs said new checks, under the Electoral Administration Act, on the signatures on postal votes could delay the count possibly until the following morning.
