Employment boost in Sunderland as contract clauses pay off

A social enterprise has praised Sunderland City Council for helping to get more than 180 local unemployed people back into work.

A social enterprise has praised Sunderland City Council for helping to get more than 180 local unemployed people back into work.

Margaret Elliott, director of care at Sunderland Home Care Associates, which provides domiciliary care for the local authority, said her organisation supported the council putting clauses in contracts to make providers give jobs to the unemployed.
