Attempts to protect some of the country's most vulnerable children risk being undermined by the ‘bewildering pace' of education and welfare reforms, according to a senior council leader.
Cllr Steven Reed, leader of Lambeth LBC, told a conference organised by the London safeguarding children board, this week, that child protection services must not be put at risk by ‘huge reforms sweeping through much of the public sector at a sometimes-bewildering pace'.
