Eighteen councils are set to join a new Local Government Association (LGA) scheme aiming to improve energy efficiency and tackle the effects of climate change.

The Climate Local Commitment, unveiled on 28 June, will help bring councils together to share best practice, make commitments to reduce carbon emissions, and protect people and services from anticipated changes in weather.
