English councils call for further Right to Buy reforms

The Government must go further with its reforms of Right to Buy (RtB) to give councils more flexibility and control over how the scheme operates locally, English councils said today.

The Government must go further with its reforms of Right to Buy (RtB) to give councils more flexibility and control over how the scheme operates locally, English councils said today. 

Amid rising demand to buy homes through the scheme since the Budget, the Local Government Association (LGA) said councils should be allowed to retain their RtB receipts indefinitely to maximise delivery of replacement homes.
