English gains but Labour loses ground in Scotland

Labour has managed to make some gains in the latest by-election contests, ahead of next month's polls across England. The party gained in two of the last Met by-elections before 4 May, with wins on Bradford City from the BNP and on Sefton MBC from the Liberal Democrats.

Labour also won from the Tories at Dacorum BC, while ~David Cameron~'s party gained from the Government on South Kesteven DC. The Conservatives took a Conwy CBC seat from Plaid Cymru but lost to the Lib Dems at Mendip DC and Mid Bedfordshire DC.
