Essex CC has disclosed details of Lord Hanningfield's credit card expenses, days after it emerged the police will take no further action into allegations dating from his time as council leader.

Legal constraints prevented publication of Lord Hanningfield's use of a corporate credit card while the information was relevant to the 14-month Police investigation – which began in September 2011, days after the disgraced peer was released early from a nine-month prison sentence incurred for fiddling parliamentary expenses.
