Essex in search of efficiency

Councils in Essex are joining forces to help local businesses and people moving home get ready for the introduction of home information packs (HIPs).

The 15 councils are now connected to the National Land Information Service, which means electronic property searches can be completed in just six days. Caroline Turner from Stevens Solicitors, which has endorsed the move, said: ‘Electronic searches mean faster searches, which will be vital when HIPs are introduced next year.'
