EU labour cap will worsen care worker recruitment

How will public services survive if the cabinet foes ahead with its decision to curtail low skilled EU immigration after Brexit, asks Michael Burton

How on earth is the care sector, not to mention the NHS, going to cope if the Cabinet pursues its decision on Monday this week to curtail low-skilled EU immigrant labour in favour of high-skilled after Brexit?

The Cabinet decision was based on last week's report from the Migrant Advisory Committee (MAC) to the Home Office which proposed looser controls for skilled immigrants, both EU and non-EU, but much tighter controls for the low-skilled such as care workers.
