The number of nurses from EU countries leaving the NHS increased by 38% last year compared with the previous 12 months, according to official figures.

The number of nurses from EU countries leaving the NHS increased by 38% last year compared with the previous 12 months, according to official figures. 

Overall, the number of EU staff leaving the NHS in the year to December 2016 increased by 21% from 7,477 in 2015 to 9,023, figures from NHS Digital show.
