External auditors have found evidence of financial irregularities at flagship ~Westminster City Council~.
Auditor PriceWaterhouse-Coopers was called in to carry out a review of procedures within the council's corporate property department in February, when suspicions were raised. The council suspected there had been failure to comply with financial regulations. And an initial draft report from the auditors last week confirmed there was ‘an overall lack of compliance with the city council's financial and contract regulations, leading to a high risk of error, mismanagement and/or fraud'.
