EXCLUSIVE: Birmingham DCS McNally resigns before taking charge

Birmingham City Council’s recently appointed director of children’s services (DCS), Bernadette McNally has resigned before taking post next month, The MJ has learned.

Birmingham City Council's recently appointed director of children's services (DCS), Bernadette McNally has resigned before taking post, The MJ has learned.

Ms McNally, whose appointment was announced in August, was due to have taken control of the children's services department from Birmingham's director of people Peter Hay.

She was previously executive director of social services at the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.
