Charity boss Dame Clare Tickell has been appointed to head the independent review into the Local Government Association (LGA) ordered by Oldham MBC leader Cllr Jim McMahon, The MJ has learned.

Charity boss Dame Clare Tickell has been appointed to head the independent review into the Local Government Association (LGA) ordered by Oldham MBC leader Cllr Jim McMahon, The MJ has learned.

Cllr McMahon, who took over as Labour Group leader at the LGA when his predecessor, Cllr David Sparks, replaced Sir Merrick Cockell as LGA chair, promised to launch a review of the organisation as part of his campaign platform for the role.
