Labour's shadow communities secretary Jon Trickett has launched calls for a ‘fundamental' shake-up of local government funding, in an exclusive interview with The MJ.

The former Leeds City Council leader said the ‘twisted' formula would ‘never be resolved' while decisions were made in the Treasury, adding northern, metropolitan cities faced a ‘grossly unfair' offer.
