Exclusive: Court battle looms over cuts to schools budget

LGA polls LEAs over taking court action to block ministers’ plans to slash top-slice grant for education support services in favour of academies.

The Local Government Association is poised to take legal action over the Government's plans to top-slice cash from councils to pay for academies.

In a letter leaked to The MJ, the association has called on council chiefs to give their backing to a judicial review over ministers' plans to cut council funding to pay for the central services of academies.
