London will need an additional £10.5m in 2015/16 to meet the huge expected rise in Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard (DoLS) applications nationally, figures seen exclusively by The MJ have shown.

The figure takes into account higher staffing costs and growing caseloads and comes on top of a huge backlog in applications for DoLS to London boroughs.
