Northamptonshire CC has designed a growth package for the region along the lines of a City Deal, which is already attracting the interest of senior political figures such as Lord Heseltine, The MJ understands.

The county missed out on both waves of City Deals, yet hopes to achieve a similar level of government support for its growth plan, which covers 10 policy areas and includes a shopping list of requests to ministers.
