Local government chief executives are sceptical the Government will push through its plan to hand over 100% of business rates, an exclusive survey by The MJ and HR consultancy Penna has revealed.

Local government chief executives are sceptical the Government will push through its plan to hand over 100% of business rates, an exclusive survey by The MJ and HR consultancy Penna has revealed.

Only half of the chief executives surveyed – 48% – believed business rates income would replace grant funding by 2020, with a further 39% suggesting it would not, and 13% who did not know.
