An agency created to drive down borrowing costs could be closed to new business if it fails to drum up enough interest by April.

The UK Municipal Bonds Agency (UKMBA) board is considering moving the company towards a ‘reduced trading' position under which it will only service the bonds it has already issued, with ‘future options' to be considered at the next annual meeting in March.
