Salary: Up to £117k

Over the course of the last 18 months, we have dramatically improved our Children's Services and are moving forward with confi dence built on real strengths: people's moral compass for children; the desire from practitioners and partners for visible leadership and the collective corporate ambition to secure sustainable improvements.

Improvement stories don't have a distinct beginning and they certainly don't have a neat end and a tidy full stop. There is still much to do, and the importance of getting it right cannot be overstated. Equally, it's not about individual heroics.

A key lesson learnt is that we need to be passionate and ambitious across our partnerships, so we are ‘better together for children'. Our learning will continue.

We now need to appoint an Executive Director of Children's Services to continue the progress already made in children's social care but also to spearhead our work in improving educational attainment. You will also have an important contribution to make to our corporate management team.
