'Expect disruption' to civil service after elections

Economic development and public service reform policies could be disrupted by a massive re-engineering of civil service departments in the aftermath of the General Election, Whitehall experts have warned.

The claim follows the disclosure senior civil servants are assessing plans from the Conservative, Liberal Democrat and Labour parties – which could see as many as nine out of 24 civil service departments abolished in a government restructure.
