Expert warns integration plan could 'hit councils hard'

A leading social care expert has warned the integration of health services could lead to a rise in demand for council services.

Speaking at the launch of the Local Government Association's (LGA) adult social care efficiency programme, Professor John Bolton, said councils were ‘unlikely' to find savings by just merging services.
