A campaign to check elderly patients for possible signs of neglect on admission to hospital has been backed by healthcare bosses from across the country.

More than 20 healthcare experts, including chief executive of the Care Quality Commission, Cynthia Bower, have backed a campaign by Dr Foster Intelligence to introduce a ‘Present on admission' flag in hospital records, in a joint letter to health secretary, Andrew Lansley.
