Leading social policy experts have branded as 'dire' figures issued today by the Department of Work and Pension's (DWP) into the performance of its flagship Work Programme.

A total of 31,000 job placements were achieved on a payment-by-results basis in the first 13 months of the government's flagship Work Programme, official figures released this morning show.
