Ten fewer English councils accepted cash inducements to freeze council tax in 2015/16 than in the previous year, official figures have revealed.

Department for Communities and Local Government statistics showed 241 out of 421 authorities, representing 57% of the total, announced they would freeze or reduce council tax charges in 2015/16.
