Government proposals to claw back the salaries of senior council staff who find work within the sector after leaving their posts have been lambasted.

Government proposals to claw back the salaries of senior council staff who find work within the sector after leaving their posts have been lambasted.

The adverse reaction follows the publication by the Treasury of draft legislation aimed at clamping down on NHS and local government managers on salaries of more than £100,000 who take redundancy, but then return to the same part of the public sector within a year.
