Fife Council's chief executive will attend his last council meeting today, before retiring tomorrow.

Ronnie Hinds has been the chief executive at the local authority for the past seven years. Before joining Fife Council, Mr Hinds worked at Edinburgh City Council and North Lanarkshire Council.

Steve Grimmond, previously the council's executive director for environment, enterprise and communities, takes over as chief executive on 1 July.

‘It has truly been a huge privilege and the pinnacle of my working life to have served as chief executive of Fife Council for the past seven years,' said Mr Hinds.

‘I am extremely proud to have been able to make a contribution to the delivery of our public services and have greatly enjoyed the opportunity to work with people who are dedicated to making a real difference to the wellbeing of our communities and the users of our services.'
