Fighting to raise voter registration

Claire Bassett explains national work to raise voter registration and how the fight will continue for greater online work.

I've been chief executive at the Electoral Commission for seven months now and one thing I have been impressed by is the huge amount of work that goes on up and down the country to ensure electors know they need to be registered if they want to vote. But there are big challenges.

Our most recent accuracy and completeness study in 2014 estimated that 7.5 million electors were not correctly registered.
