Viewers who tuned into the television adaptation of JK Rowling's much-hyped The Casual Vacancy, which started last weekend on BBC One, may not be aware that the production received a helping hand from Stroud DC.

The local authority worked closely with media company, Creative England, to ensure the production went as smoothly as possible, using locations around Stroud, Painswick and Minchinhampton.
