Only half of public sector finance departments have been key to implementing the Spending Review (SR), with the rest holding an advisory or support role, according to research.

Consultant PwC, which carried out the survey, said finance departments needed to ‘step up and demonstrate they are genuinely engaged in financial decision-making'.
