Firm's HQ raided in 'price-fixing' probe

Construction firm Mowlem, which was recently taken over by rival Carillion, is being investigated by the ~Office of Fair Trading~ (OFT).

The OFT raided Mowlem's headquarters and its Nottingham office in March. It is thought allegations of price fixing are being investigated. A spokesman for the OFT said its staff had carried out a number of investigations in the building sector recently, and this particular investigation was still ongoing and could not be discussed. Carillion bought Mowlem in February for £313m. A spokesman for Carillion said it was co-operating fully with the investigation.
