Are we fit for the future?

Three years since the Health and Social Care Act was passed, chairman of the Local Government Association, Gary Porter, asks if we are fit for the future.

It is now three years since the Health and Social Care Act was passed, giving local authorities a statutory duty to improve health and reduce health inequalities.

This was a welcome move as many of the functions that sit with local government can influence people's health from cradle to grave.
