The case for government subsidies for fast broadband connections is weak while many Britons remain unconnected, a think-tank reported this week.
A report by Policy Exchange, The superfast and the furious, urges Whitehall to stop spending on high-speed broadband once a target of 90% national coverage is achieved in 2015. The think-tank instead urges departments to focus help on small businesses and the 11 million individuals still unconnected across England.
