Tributes have been paid from all side of the political spectrum to former Blackpool Council chief executive Steve Weaver, who has died following a road accident while cycling in the south of France.

Mr Weaver served Blackpool for almost ten years between 2002 and 2011 and his achievements in office include the town's reacquisition of the iconic Blackpool Tower and Winter Gardens.
