Former Lambeth LBC leader Steve Reed has become the new shadow communities and local government secretary replacing Andrew Gwynne.

Mr Reed, who became a Croydon MP in 2012 was previously Lambeth leader from 2006-12 where he pioneered the ‘cooperative council' concept.
