Partnership working has taken a major step forward in Swindon, with the new PCT chief also becoming the council's housing and adult social care director.

Caroline Fowles has been chosen to straddle the health and local authority sectors – and both the council and PCT (primary care trust) are optimistic about the appointment, while Ms Fowles recognises the opportunities for joint working.
