New frontiers for shared services

Local government is without doubt the most resilient and innovative arm of government. It continues to find solutions to deal with budget cuts while meeting the demand for quality public services.

While the direct delivery of local services is still the most common model overall, public/public shared services arrangements and delivering services through wholly local authority-owned companies are becoming increasingly popular.
