Every frontline worker deserves recognition

It will be a long time until we see the full impact of the coronavirus crisis, says Heather Jameson. But we need to recognise the efforts of frontline workers

As the country starts to emerge from lockdown, bleary-eyed and blinking into the sunlight, it will be a long time until we see what lasting impact the coronavirus crisis has had on the nation. It is true it could be huge catalyst for change – but change what?

Predictions that we will all be home working abound. After the short-term Government bail-out of Transport for London and the fare hike that will follow, the capital's commuters may even be tempted to ditch the office and move further afield, doing more for the North-South divide than the meagre levelling up agenda could ever have hoped for.
