Funds shortage could put planning reforms at risk

Government planning reforms could be put at risk by the ‘severe shortage of funds’ within local authorities, the British Property Federation (BPF) has warned.

Government planning reforms could be put at risk by the ‘severe shortage of funds' within local authorities, the British Property Federation (BPF) has warned.

The reforms include giving automatic planning permission on all suitable brownfield land and the introduction of new powers allowing the Government to intervene when councils fail to produce local plans.
