Midlands chief executives have emphasised the importance of ensuring candidates match the organisation's values and culture when recruiting to senior roles.

The panel of council bosses, speaking at The MJ's Future Forum Midlands event in Stratford-upon-Avon, were clear this was equally as important as candidates demonstrating professional competence.
